What is Methodology?
Methodology was started by Pat Moore in 2017 in order to support local communities via grassroots snowboard events that fundraise for local non-profits. The event has supported Chill Foundation, Stoked, YES Kids Boston, Lin-Wood Skatepark, and many more groups on the East Coast, Utah and California. At Sierra at Tahoe, Methodology will be raising money for Boarding for Breast Cancer. All of the registration proceeds go toward B4BC!
What can I expect at the event?
Methodology is a banked slalom race that is accessible to all ages and levels of snowboarders to ride (we recommend being able to confidently link turns down blue runs). Divisions are broken down by age and gender. In the morning, register and enjoy an hour to warm up and check out the course. BTBounds will have some banked slalom veterans on hand to offer tips and tricks for turning through the course and hitting the (optional) hip at the bottom, as well as to gas you up before you drop in! You will get two runs through the course and in between you can take some runs, hang out and support friends, cheer for great methods on the hip, etc.
How does the race work?
Attempt your fastest time during your two runs on the banked slalom course. After the finish line, show the judges your best method on the designated snow feature for a chance to deduct time off your best banked slalom result.
I want to come hang out with BTBounds, but I'm not sure I am ready to compete. Can I still attend?
Yes, of course! Come hang out, ride, and cheer everyone on! We will have some special surprises set up and an après supported by Pabst Blue Ribbon, but it will be necessary to sign up for Methodology to enjoy those things--but it's a donation to a great cause!
